she used to watch them from a distance
through the smog of days and cold of haze
autumnal joy and the glory of rain
the girl with a laugh and a smile
that never foretold about things to come
what she remembers of him was his eyes and
the cuff link pair and a watch thick and grey
together they formed a connection that ought to have withstood time
in the days that followed through the festivals and endless cheer
and work that led them through hiccups of sleepless nights
life was but a celebration of the whimsy of hearts
but when the connection broke and yes it did
she wonders if they just disappeared into the wide world
fragmented and torn, at peace and warm
sitting across strangers with a teacup in hand
making chitchat that didn’t really belong
did they watch from afar or did they look for life?
she didn’t think so…she was the connection after all.

With every poem i read, on stirrings of the heart, i feel like, perhaps i discovered a piece of me on a stranger’s page….
Loved it.. (and loved the pic too!)
awww…thank you…thank you so much ❤
A melancholy poem written from the heart.
sigh…tis also the month that makes me a lil sad…don’t know why?
Sometimes I am sad this time of year. It’s a time to reflect on the past, and that is not always happy. I hope that you are smiling today!
ah yes..today was a busy happy kind of day 🙂
This was so precious…
“life was but a celebration of the whimsy of hearts..”
Love the way you put that…not sure if that was intended, but that is making me smile… And now I sleep with your words on my mind…and, not to forget, the smile.. 🙂
Sweet dreams!
you too ❤

This year I have been on a quest to visit and comment on a positive blog each day, while keeping a list of my discoveries on my own site. I’ve added your blog as today’s entry. 🙂 Glad I found my way here!
