she came but with dawn

a splash of the sun, a sigh
a hint of rain, but nigh
a moth in love with the flame
a tolling bell that calls the night sky
a darkness that refuses to stray
a togetherness without you and i

the fairy tale in us

if you are the moon
then there’s much of me you’ve never known
am wild or at least I’d like to think so
and often found a little off the stage
there no frame that can hold my gaze
am the dot that’s often erased

If you are the sun
then am afraid i come out only at dusk
often when the winds blow harsh
I can be seen singing from the trees
laughing at the breeze

If you ask around they wouldn’t know
where to send you any more
I live mostly in my mind
and sometimes in the wasteland you call home

ode to a sunset wrapped in a desert sarong

thank you for all the laughter and a million memories strong
nothing recedes without leaving behind…
an echo, a silhouette, an imagined warmth
with you, I’ve discovered time and tide come back for second chances
may they find me just a little wiser and a little happier
and a traveller for many a miles long
and should you call, I will play along
this time, for the love and the echoes of the song.

‘a dream within a dream’

she used to watch them from a distance
through the smog of days and cold of haze
autumnal joy and the glory of rain
the girl with a laugh and a smile
that never foretold about things to come
what she remembers of him was his eyes and
the cuff link pair and a watch thick and grey
together they formed a connection that ought to have withstood time
in the days that followed through the festivals and endless cheer
and work that led them through hiccups of sleepless nights
life was but a celebration of the whimsy of hearts
but when the connection broke and yes it did
she wonders if they just disappeared into the wide world
fragmented and torn, at peace and warm
sitting across strangers with a teacup in hand
making chitchat that didn’t really belong
did they watch from afar or did they look for life?

she didn’t think so…she was the connection after all.

delicious ambiguity…

do you ever think that all your broken pieces
might live across the oceans grey or in the triangular bay?
do ever walk with no destination in mind, except in circles square?
do you search for soul mates in eyes of moody blues or tempestuous curls of hair?
do you take well lit roads of addresses unknown or walk the silent stairs?
do you want for postcards from heaven or texts from strangers known?
do you hurt like crazy but talk with laughter in the air?
are you the piece that fits my puzzle or is my puzzle your affair?
have you ever thought how if you and I were to meet we would be complete?

…the flowers that find you.

Someday when you know for sure
You’ll love yourself lots more
You’ll tear up the letters and the napkin folds
Of the fools who dilly dallied
And spoke in hushed whispers of wanting you so
You’ll stare at your reflection in the pond that holds your tears
And set adrift a little blue boat for tomorrow
And a red balloon with hearts made of gold.
