she came but with dawn

a splash of the sun, a sigh
a hint of rain, but nigh
a moth in love with the flame
a tolling bell that calls the night sky
a darkness that refuses to stray
a togetherness without you and i

fade to grey

soulful and strong the the muezzin’s call, pierces the dawn
i stare at an endless maze of buildings fawn
the sun settles for an evening gone
a flurry of doves break from their twilight spell
flying over the spires of the dome high
i close my eyes
the lights dim down.
